I’m so thankful for Matt’s mom and sister who put up and decorated the most precious little Christmas tree for our Madelyn. They love her so well and are hands of God for us taking care of our girl when we are not able to be in town to switch out decorations for her ourselves. Isn’t it the most beautiful tree? As I was looking through the pictures I took, I was struck by the ray of light shining on her angel. It’s too perfectly placed to be a coincidence. I have wished for so many things over the past few weeks. That she was still here. That we could love on her, sing Christmas carols with her and watch her eyes light up as she looked upon her first Christmas tree. She would have been almost 10 months this Christmas and full of giggles and laughter. It hurts every day but we’ve felt it in new ways this season. But with the pain, we’ve seen and continue to see God’s hand in the most special ways. And today, our little girl said hello from heaven in the form of a shimmering Christmas light resting on an angel. To see that kind of miracle on this earth, the kind where you know it was orchestrated by God, is more humbling and beautiful than I can put into words. He’s holding her. And yesterday, she got to do something none of us have been able to do yet. She got to tell Him happy birthday. In person
