I bought a birthday outfit today for my daughter, Madelyn Grace.
She’s in heaven.
This might sound strange to some. Why would I buy clothes for my child if she can’t wear them? There’s a very simple answer to that.
Because she’s still my child.
I am blessed to mother three boys here on earth, and my sweet baby girl in heaven. And even though she’s not physically here, she’s just as much my child as my boys are.
So I wanted to do something for her. And it felt wonderful.
So to the mamas who are mothering a child in heaven: can I tell you something? You are still your child’s mother. And you are doing an amazing job. And if it fills your heart to buy something for your child, to write your child’s name a million times a day in your journal, to share pictures of them—whatever brings you comfort, brings a piece of them near to your heart—you are not strange.
You are a mother.
They see you.
And I see you, too.
