I posted this in #strongheart yesterday, but the Lord has been nudging me to post it publicly as well. “Because when we’re brave enough to share the God stories in our lives, it changes the people around us. It changes us to share them.” ~Annie F. Downs, 100 Days to Brave
When we have tried to get pregnant in the past, it has always happened right away. After losing Madelyn, it took a long time for us to feel like our hearts were truly ready to try again. Now, we are ready, and so far we have been told “not yet.” We are taught that God’s timing is perfect, but when you are in a season of waiting, especially if that waiting is mixed with grief, it can be very hard on the heart. As the devil has been attacking me ferociously over the past few weeks (he does NOT like that I have started this group) one of the biggest lies he has been speaking is that God has forgotten me. That He does not want what is for my good. After all, haven’t I been through enough? Shouldn’t I be given the gift of another pregnancy when my heart desires it so? My devotional a few mornings ago was on Isaiah 30:21, but for some reason, God lifted my eyes to verse 18 instead. And then came the tears. He LONGS to be gracious to us. That is what He wants. That is His heart. He rises TO show us compassion. That’s WHY He rises!!!! For you! And for me!! To hug us, comfort us, remind us that He is with us. Our timing is not His. And we can’t understand it. But because it is His, it is perfect. If you are in a season of waiting, take heart. Be encouraged. For the God of the universe longs to comfort you. He has called a new day to existence—He has risen—for you.
