Little Angel Baby, who was playing in heaven, stopped for a moment to look down upon her mama.
“Guess how much I love you,” she said.
Her mama, feeling her presence, said, “Oh, I don’t think I could guess that.”
“This much,” said Little Angel Baby, stretching her arms from one cloud to the next.
Her mama, giggling at her child’ s playfulness, said, “but I love you this much.” And, looking up, she drew a heart with her finger around all the clouds she could see.
“I love you as much as 1,000 hugs,” said Little Angel Baby.
I love you as much as 1,000 hugs and kisses,” said her mama.
That is a lot of hugs and kisses, thought Little Angel Baby.
Then she had a good idea. She sent a butterfly down to her mama. “I love you so much that I am sending this butterfly just for you.”
“And I love you so much that I am sending all of these balloons, just for you,” said her mama. And she released 10 beautiful balloons up to the clouds.
“I love you as deep as the ocean!” said Little Angel Baby.
“I love you deeper,” said her mama.
“I love you as high as the tallest mountain!” said Little Angel Baby.
“I love you higher,” said her mama.
“I love you as long as all the seasons!” cried Little Angel Baby.
“I love you as long as a lifetime of seasons, and beyond,” said her mama.
That’s very long, thought Little Angel Baby. Then she looked down at her mama. She thought of the best and greatest love of all. “I love you all the way from heaven,” she said, smiling sweetly.
“Oh that’s far,” said her mama. “That is very, very far.”
Then Little Angel Baby’s mama closed her eyes, and imagined holding her baby in her arms. Then she kissed her cheek, hugged her tight, and whispered, “I love you all the way to heaven–
and back.”
